Simon Mignolet: Derby win means nothing if we don't beat Everton
SIMON MIGNOLET has warned Sunderland that their biggest derby win in 34 years will mean nothing if they fail to follow it up with victory over Everton this Saturday.
This feeling will go away rather quickly if we get defeated
Goalkeeper Mignolet believes the party atmosphere in the dressing room after Sunday’s win against Newcastle at St James’ Park will only be justified if Paolo Di Canio’s side can clinch another win in their fight against the drop.
He said: “To get three points and three goals at Newcastle was a very good feeling for us all – but this feeling will go away rather quickly if we get defeated. We can enjoy the moment but we have to make sure we do not get carried away for the Everton game.”
