Newcastle's Ryan Taylor suffers further injury setback
NEWCASTLE UNITED have been dealt a cruel blow as Ryan Taylor has sustained a cruciate knee ligament injury.
The defender has been limited to three appearances for the Magpies this season after he injured his knee during a Europa League qualifier in August.
Although Taylor appeared to be working his way back to fitness, his latest setback means he could miss the majority of if not all of next season.
Alan Pardew expressed his disappointment for Taylor, telling Newcastle's official website: "Ryan has worked so hard and diligently since his injury.
"He has been a model patient and has given his all to ensure he could return to full training in the best condition possible. Clearly everyone at the Club is deeply saddened by this news.
"Ryan has, and will continue to, receive the full support of everyone at Newcastle United during this difficult time for him."
Newcastle currently sit in 13th spot in the Premier League, five points clear of the drop zone.
