Manchester City will play Wigan in the FA Cup Final
Manchester City will take on Wigan in the final of the FA Cup on May 11.
Wigan swept aside Milwall in Saturday's semi final, and Manchester City were victorious against Chelsea at Wembley today.
It will be Wigan's first appearance in the FA Cup final in their 81 year history.
By contrast, Manchester City have won the famous trophy on five occasions, with their most recent success coming in 2011.
And while City are plying their trade neat the top of the league, Wigan face a battle to retain their Premier League status and currently sit in the bottom three.
I hope we can have the same scenes when we play against Wigan.
City captain Vincent Kompany praised his team's fans for their support during the game.
He said: "It's been another great day for the club.
"Look at this [the fans]. I hope we can have the same scenes when we play against Wigan.
"For a while it was too comfortable and their goal was a wake up."
Victorious manager Roberto Mancini said: "I was frustrated, but not now, because in the Premiership we can do nothing.
"I think we could win another Premier League if we worked well in the summer.
"But now we are in the final and we should get the second position [in the league]."
Chelsea's interim boss Rafael Benitez believes his side should have a penalty in the closing stages of the game when Torres when down in the box under a challenge from Kompany.
He said: "The penalty decision was crucial.
"The reaction of the team [after going two goals down] was very good and Fernando Torres made an impact very quickly when he came on."
