Leicester 2 - Birmingham 2: Spot-on Chris Burke rescues Brum
CHRIS Burke’s last-gasp penalty dealt yet another blow to Leicester’s faltering play-off hopes as Birmingham twice came from behind to earn a draw.
Burke kept his cool to slot home in the 90th minute after David Nugent’s foul on Wes Thomas.
It meant instead of climbing up to fifth, the Foxes remain outside the play-off places, in seventh, as their winless streak stretched to nine matches.
Birmingham’s former Foxes defender Curtis Davies had given Nigel Pearson’s team an early lead when he headed into his own net under pressure from Wes Morgan.
Nikola Zigic levelled just after the hour when, from inside the six-yard box, he converted a cross from Paul Caddis following a slick move.
Ghana international Jeff Schlupp thought he had scored the winner on 75 minutes when he rose highest to power home a Matty James’ corner.
But Burke had the final say from the spot.
