Birmingham ready to open contract talks with Wade Elliott
BIRMINGHAM CITY are ready to get the ball rolling in terms of negotiating a new contract for Wade Elliott.
The former Burnley and Bournemouth midfielder has been a key figure for the Blues this season, and has made 30 starts.
Elliott will be a free agent as of the summer, but manager Lee Clark doesn't have any intention of letting his contract wind down.
Clark said: "Wade has been a big player for us. He has been excellent in different roles.
"He's important to us because he's a very intelligent footballer and a good footballer."
Elliott has shown an eye for goal too, weighing in with eight goals in all competitions.
Birmingham are currently languishing in mid-table in the Championship with five games remaining.
