Real Madrid's President ready to get chequebook out for Gareth Bale and Sergio Aguero
REAL MADRID president Florentino Perez is ready to get his chequebook out to snaffle Manchester City's Sergio Aguero and Spurs' Gareth Bale this summer.
Aguero has been shortlisted for a move to Los Blancos in recent months, with his father-in-law Diego Maradona suggesting that it could be his big break.
While the Argentine's season has been disrupted by injury, the Citizens are willing to offer their striker a new contract to deter potential suitors from bidding.
Bale on the other hand, has been in exceptional form so far this season, netting 17 league goals and is a strong contender for the PFA Player of the Year award.
And Perez, who is running again in the presidential elections this summer, will have to spend big to get two of the Premier League's most coveted stars.
Spanish paper Estadio Deportivo understands that Real would have to stump up £51m for Bale and £38m for Aguero.
Spurs are trying to stave off Real's interest until next season, especially if they fulfil their ambition of cementing a Champions League berth at the end of this campaign.
They have a special relationship with the La Liga giants, who brought Luka Modric to the Bernebeu last summer in a £33m deal.
City are looking to rebuild in the summer, as they have seen their hopes of defending the title all but evaporate.
