Manchester City to broaden search for left-back after missing out on Jetro Willems
MANCHESTER CITY will have to look elsewhere in their pursuit of a left-back after Jetro Willems signed a new long-term contract with PSV.
Express Online reported yesterday that the move for Willems had hit a snag after John Guidetti refused to play a part in a possible swap deal.
Now the 19-year-old has committed his future to the club by agreeing a deal to stay at the Dutch club until 2017.
"When I came here from Sparta Rotterdam I had not achieved anything," Willem told the club's official website.
"Now I have already played at the European Championship."
Willems joined PSV in 2011 from Sparta and broke into the first team following injuries to fellow defenders Erik Pieters and Abel Tamata.
