Demba Ba gives Chelsea a fitness boost ahead of Manchester City clash
CHELSEA striker Demba Ba is expected to be fit for Sunday's FA Cup semi-final with Manchester City at Wembley.
Ba was the Blues' match-winner in the quarter-final replay against United but he was taken off at half-time against Sunderland on Saturday with an ankle injury.
Chelsea take on Rubin Kazan in the Europa League in Russia tomorrow night but Ba is cup-tied, having represented Newcastle earlier in the competition.
Despite not participating in full training yesterday, he should be fit to be considered for Wembley.
Interim-boss Rafael Benitez said: "Demba Ba did not train just as a precaution.
"It's not too serious. He will not go to Moscow. Hopefully he can train here and be okay for the weekend."
Benitez also revealed that England defenders Gary Cahill (knee) and Ashley Cole (hamstring) are recovering well.
The Spaniard said: "The feeling from both is really good."
Centre-back Cahill has had a knee operation after being ruled out of England's World Cup qualifiers with San Marino and Montenegro last month.
Cole suffered a hamstring injury in the Easter Monday win over Manchester United, two days after the Southampton defeat in the Premier League.
