Dougie Freedman hopeful of tying Bolton's Marcos Alonso to new deal
BOLTON manager Dougie Freedman believes he can secure a new deal for Marcos Alonso.
The Spanish defender has been an integral part of the first team this season, and was on target as Bolton chalked up a 2-0 win over Wolves last weekend.
Alonso attracted interest from Stoke, Celtic and Fiorentina during the January transfer window but he decided to stay at the Reebok Stadium.
Bolton have offered a new contract to Alonso and Freedman is hopeful he will sign a new deal.
Freedman said: "Marcos is playing by the rules.
He has been offered a new contract and it's so far so good
"He has been offered a new contract and it's so far so good."
Bolton are just two points off a play-off spot in eighth position.
