Manchester United and Manchester City face stiff competition for Erik Lamela
MANCHESTER CITY and Manchester United have a battle on their hands to land Erik Lamela in the summer.
Citizens boss Roberto Mancini undertook a scouting trip a couple of months ago to watch Lamela in action for Roma in a Serie A match against Sampdoria.
United have also been on the lookout for forwards despite boasting an impressive arsenal of attacking talent.
Although Lamela has had an admiring glance from Barcelona too, it seems that the net has widened.
Reports surfacing in Spain have now credited Real Madrid with an interest and they are set to join the race to sign him.
Lamela has been in impressive form this season, hitting 13 goals in 25 appearances.
He is contracted with Roma until 2016.
