Paul Robinson to miss six months after developing blood clot in his lung
FORMER England goalkeeper Paul Roboinson may be out for six months after developing a blood clot in his lung, it was announced today.
The Blackburn Rovers keeper, 33, suffered serious respiratory complications following a back operation last week.
Robinson, who has 41 international caps, was kept in hospital over Easter after developing a pulmonary embolism but has now returned home to recover.
Robinson has not played since December and is out of contract at the end of the season.
The news is part of a double blow as first choice keeper Jake Kean was also ruled out for the rest of the Championship season.
The 22-year-old suffered a torn cartilage in his knee in Monday's 3-0 defeat to Cardiff City.
The result left Blackburn 19th in the second tier of English football.
