Oh là là! David Beckham blasted by French press
ENGLAND great David Beckham has been hammered in the French press after Paris St-Germain's 2-2 draw with Barcelona last night.
Beckham had a solid game in centre-midfield but the country's media have blasted him as "poor" and "a gamble that didn't pay off".
Leading French newspaper L'Equipe gave him a three out of 10 in their player ratings, the joint worst of anyone on the pitch.
L'Equipe said Beckham "didn’t make much impact" and added that he "lacked rhythm and was sometimes off the pace".
Beckham was replaced by Marco Verratti with 20 minutes to go. He was described as being "more resolute".
There have been calls for Beckham to return for Roy Hodgson's England side but French daily newspaper Le Parisien labelled his selection "a gamble".
PSG netted both goals - courtesy of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Blaise Matuidi - after Beckham was subbed.
