Bolton 1 - Huddersfield 0: Chris Eagles soars in for Bolton
CHRIS EAGLES’ winner reignited Bolton’s drive towards the play-offs and continued to show his worth to manager Dougie Freedman.
Peter [Clarke] has apologised to everyone in the dressing room
Last month Eagles, above, hit the only goal against Blackburn and here lifted a Bolton side who could not afford to lose after consecutive defeats.
Freedman said: “I said that Chris could pop up and be the difference between a lot of teams and he’s shown us that.”
Eagles scored with an unstoppable 12-yard shot in the 58th minute after Huddersfield captain Peter Clarke needlessly gave away the ball to Marvin Sordell on the left wing.
“Peter has apologised to everyone in the dressing room but I told him there is no need to,” said boss Mark Robins.
Huddersfield could have scored twice in the last minute of the first half, when Zat Knight almost put into his own net and Clarke hit the crossbar with a header.
