Spurs' Gareth Bale is best player in Europe says Zinedine Zidane
TOTTENHAM star Gareth Bale has received a glowing endorsement from Zinedine Zidane, who has said he is the best player in Europe.
Bale has been in mesmerising form for the north London outfit and has spearheaded their charge for a Champions League berth.
He has been heavily linked with a summer move to Real Madrid, with bidding expected to start in the £50m region.
Though Bale hasn't played in Europe's elite competition, Zidane was happy to heap praise on Bale.
In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, he said: "You can't compare him, he's unique he makes things look easy, his pace is frightening.
"He's unique. He makes things look easy, his pace is frightening, his acceleration is unbelievable because of his ability to go through the gears in very little space.
"Plus, he's very good technically which is also important. We mustn't forget that he plays football very well!
Bale has turned himself into an out and out goalscorer for Spurs and has plundered 17 Premier League goals this season, including a breathtaking strike against Swansea during their win at the Liberty Stadium at the weekend.
While Bale's coruscating performances have led him to be mentioned in the same breath as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Zidane thinks he's not 'quite at their level' yet.
He added: "He's perhaps not quite at the level of the other two, but he's different.
"So personally I don't think he's far off."
