Everton fix their attentions on Jeffren Suarez
EVERTON are poised to table a bid for Sporting Lisbon's Jeffren Suarez in the summer.
Jeffren has been tenuously linked in the past to Liverpool, however interest in him dissipated.
His strike partner Ricky van Wolfswinkel is Norwich bound after signing a pre-contract deal reported to be worth £8m last week.
Everton manager David Moyes has already seeked reassurances from the board about his transfer budget in the summer, and he may try to convince him that a player of Jeffren's ilk is what they need.
Portuguese paper O Jogo ascertains Sporting Lisbon's financial problems could force them to part company with Jeffren.
They also note that Jeffren's poor performances along with injuries has hampered his progress.
His meagre return of two goals is a point in proof.
Jeffren is contracted with Sporting until 2016.
