Borussia Dortmund forward Robert Lewandowski urged to turn down Manchester United
MANCHESTER UNITED target Robert Lewandowski is being urged to snub a move to Old Trafford in the summer.
Borussia Dortmund forward Lewandowski has been on United's trail for a while despite the champions elect possessing four world-class strikers on their books.
It has been widely speculated that Lewandowski's departure could facilitate Manchester City's Edin Dzeko's arrival.
Lewandowski's team-mate Roman Weidenfeller lavished praise on the Pole and said he doesn't want his team-mate to leave at the end of the season.
"Of course we joke around when we are in different cities in Europe. We make jokes about his next destination but we're just joking," Weidenfeller told a British newspaper.
"Lewandowski is not only technical, he's also very quick and has a feeling for goals, so whenever there's a chance he senses it. Every club would be happy to have a player like him.
"The best place for Lewandowski is here in Dortmund and we hope to keep him. He grew to become a big player here and he belongs to this team."
Lewandowski has been in electric form this season for Dortmund, firing 25 goals in all competitions.
