Arsenal pondering re-signing Barcelona's Alex Song
ARSENAL could pave the way for a surprise return for Barcelona's Alex Song.
Song joined the Catalan giants last summer, but he has been on the fringes of the first team as he failed to win over Tito Vilanova, and his assistant manager Jordi Roura, who oversaw first-team affairs while Vilanova was receiving cancer treatment in New York.
Furthermore, Song was named the second worst signing of 2012 after Real Madrid's Luka Modric in a poll carried out by Spanish paper Marca.
But Arsenal may try to revive Song's flagging career.
Reports in Spain suggest Song is willing to listen to offers as he weighs up his future.
Although PSG have expressed their desire to lure Song away from Barca, Arsenal could afford to re-sign him.
It is believed that Song could be sold for £12.7m, which wouldn't deter Arsene Wenger who is expected to be handed a £70m transfer kitty to improve his squad.
Song may be forced to warm the bench again tonight, as Barca travel to PSG for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash.
