Manchester United 'sign' Benfica's Ezequiel Garay
MANCHESTER UNITED have 'signed' Benfica's Ezequiel Garay ahead of the summer transfer window.
Garay has been on Sir Alex Ferguson's radar for a while and we reported that United were 'negotiating' a deal for him.
We also reported that Chelsea set their sights on Garay, who has been a mainstay of the Benfica team.
Spanish paper El Mundo Deportivo reported that Barcelona had joined the race to sign Garay as potential cover for Carles Puyol who has been dogged by injuries.
They also suggested that Garay could fetch up to £17m.
According to Portuguese publication Record, United have 'agreed' a £17m deal for Garay.
The Argentine has clocked up 30 appearances for Benfica so far this season.
