Manchester United's Wayne Rooney casts further doubt over his future
MANCHESTER UNITED forward Wayne Rooney has cast further doubt over his Manchester United future by telling team-mates he may leave the club in the summer.
Rooney has been linked with a whole host of clubs in the past few months, most notably PSG.
The former Toffees forward's future has been the subject of mounting speculation ever since he was dropped from the starting line-up for the Champions League game against Real Madrid.
Sir Alex Ferguson has maintained the stance that there is no contractual issue with the player.
He told reporters last week: "I wasn’t even aware of that [his contract running out].
“So there’s no issue with his contract. When it has to be renegotiated it will be done. We don’t want players to leave.”
Rooney has also been tracked by Bayern Munich, who will have a whopping budget to splash out on players in the summer.
The Bavarian giants' honorary president Franz Beckenbauer is a fan of Wayne Rooney.
He told reporters: "I would be very happy for Wayne Rooney to come to Bayern."
Rooney has 11 Premier League goals to his name this season.
