David Beckham set for Champions League return
DAVID BECKHAM is poised to return to the Champions League tonight after three years away.
The former England captain last turned out in the world's greatest club competition for AC Milan against Manchester United in 2010.
Paris St-Germain have Marco Verratti suspended while Thiago Motta has been nursing a thigh injury, meaning Beckham is likely to play some part in their last-16 clash with Valencia.
Beckham, 37, said: "I might not be able to run as much as I used to when I was 21, but I'll try.
"I can still get around the pitch and still play the balls I play. My passion hasn't changed, my energy hasn't changed, the way I want to win a game hasn't changed, so it's pretty much the same."
PSG hold a 2-1 first-leg lead after Adil Rami netted late on for Valencia to leave the tie on a knife-edge.
Beckham added: "It makes it a little bit more difficult, but this team's definitely capable of progressing."
Beckham has made one start for PSG and two substitute appearances in his short time in Paris.
