Arsenal loanee Nicklas Bendtner banned from national team after drink-driving arrest
NICKLAS Bendtner has been banned from the Danish national team for the next six months after he was arrested for drink-driving.
The 25-year-old, who is on loan at Juventus from Arsenal, was stopped by police for driving against the traffic in Copenhagen on Saturday.
A statement from the Danish Football Association confirmed Bendtner will be charged with a violation of the Road Traffic Act and said in a statement: “The DBU respect any player’s right to privacy but also have some rules and expectations regarding the public profile of each player.”
Bendtner said on Twitter: “Dear friends, I was booked for a mild case of drink-driving. I am very sorry to all my friends and fans.
“It is not OK to drink and drive. I take full responsibility.”
