Leighton Baines on radar to join Wayne Rooney at Manchester United
ENGLAND pals Leighton Baines and Wayne Rooney could be seeing a lot more of each other next season – at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have earmarked Baines as the eventual replacement for French international left-back Patrice Evra but he won’t come cheap.
The 28-year-old faces Rooney and company at Old Trafford today, still believing he has more in the locker.

He said: “There’s not one person out there who doesn’t have something to improve on. I am as conscious of my weaknesses, as anyone is, because I live with them. I know what they are and I am always working on them and trying to do things to make sure they don’t get exposed.”
Baines admits to being in awe of Rooney’s work ethic when he sees him at close quarters with England.
“You can see on the pitch he’s a big character and that’s the same off the pitch,” he added.
“That’s what you get with Wayne. It could be in a match against Brazil at Wembley or in a five-a-side in training.”
