Swansea still fear losing Michu
SWANSEA are still sweating on whether Michu will remain at the Liberty Stadium come next season.
Michu’s acclimatisation to Premier League football has been seamless this season, and he has terrorised defences.
At £2m, he has been seen as the buy of the season and his stock has risen inexorably.
And now, fans and the board are bracing themselves for some big money offers from clubs home and abroad.
Spanish football site Inside Spanish Football has it Russian sides Zenit St Petersburg and Anzhi Makhachkala are keeping a close eye on him.
They also quote a Swansea City club source, who said: “The club wanted to reward Michu, but also protect themselves. There are still big fears Michu will leave at the end of the season.
“But at least the club is now guaranteed a big fee and will be in a good negotiating position when bids come in.”
Michu has plundered 14 goals so far for the Swans this season.
