Nottingham Forest 2 Leicester 2: Mac rescued – by George!
Nottingham Forest 2 Leicester 2
STEVE McCLaren spent five years as Sven-Goran Eriksson’s England No2 and was in his shadow again before a George Boateng injury-time header salvaged a lucky point.
Leicester striker David Nugent side-footed one home in the 18th minute and within three minutes Forest’s Chris Gunter cleared off the line but it went straight to Gelson Fernandes, who made no mistake.
Forest were handed a 79th-minute lifeline when Lewis McGugan struck from the spot. Kasper Schmeichel lost his cool and was shown a yellow card before and after the spot-kick.
Eriksson said: “We showed today we are a good team even if we didn’t win the game. We are getting there.”
