Winning Mayn job
MAYNOR FIGUEROA claims he is not bothered about repeating his stunning goal against Stoke as long as Wigan win to stay up.
Honduran full-back Figueroa returns this Sunday to the scene of his spectacular strike last season with Wigan clinging on to survival.
Roberto Martinez’s troops must win at the Britannia to have a chance of avoiding the drop and Figueroa, who scored from inside his own half in a 2-2 draw against the Potters, said: “I have happy memories of Stoke after my goal there last season. But it doesn’t matter who scores as long as we get the three points.”
Wigan looked down and out after trailing West Ham 2-0 at the DW Stadium on Sunday, but Charles N’Zogbia capped a remarkable comeback win, with Figueroa praising boss Martinez for delivering an inspirational half-time team-talk. He added: “It really struck a chord.”
