England driving home for a party with Vauxhall
ENGLAND unveiled new sponsors Vauxhall yesterday along with their ambition to resurrect the Home International series for a one-off set of games to mark the FA’s 150th anniversary in 2013.
FA general secretary Alex Horne said: “This is something we have discussed with the other countries for some time. It is a concept at the moment but there is a lot of empathy for it as a one-off.”
The idea would sit well with Vauxhall, who signed a three-and-a-half -year contract and are set to announce deals with all four domestic FAs for a total of £40 million.
But the FA are also looking further afield in celebrating their milestone, with feelers already having been put out to Spain, Germany, Brazil and Argentina.
