Sir Alex Ferguson health update after Man Utd legend hospitalised before Liverpool win
There has been a health update about Sir Alex Ferguson after he was taken to hospital before Manchester United's clash against Liverpool

Sir Alex Ferguson is understood to be recovering after he was hospitalised. The legendary Manchester United manager was at Old Trafford for his former side's Premier League clash against Liverpool.
He was set to watch the match from the stands, as he often does when the Red Devils are in town. However, he was taken to hospital as a precaution, after feeling unwell while at the stadium. Before he was quickly ushered out to the stadium and to hospital, he was seen on social media embracing supporters and interacting with other members of staff at his former workplace. However, it's understood Ferguson is in good spirits and is feeling much better.

When asked by the Press Association how Ferguson was faring after he became unwell at Old Trafford, a source close to the iconic Scotsman said he was "Okay."
It's understood Ferguson was initially assessed by on-site medics in the tunnel area of the ground, where he first started feeling unwell. As a precaution, he was whisked out of the stadium and driven to hospital.
In Ferguson's absence, United put in a performance he would've been proud of as Michael Carrick's side sealed their place in next season's Champions League with a 3-2 victory.
United edged out Liverpool in a topsy-turvy encounter at Old Trafford. In the first half, the Reds threatened a rout over their fierce rivals.

Matheus Cunha put the Reds into the lead with a scuffed half-volley which bamboozled Freddie Woodman in the Liverpool goal and found its way into the far corner. United then doubled their lead through a contentious goal from Benjamin Sesko.
The Slovenian bundled in a goal which may or may not have come off his hand on its way into the net, but after VAR could not get a clear angle of the incident, the goal was allowed to stand.
In the second half, Liverpool flew out of the traps and were level within 11 second-half minutes after Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo took advantage of slack United defending to bring the game level. But in the 77th minute, Kobbie Mainoo guided in an exquisite half volley from 18 yards to ensure his side took all three points.
It was a goal that ensured United would finish in the top five and qualify for next season's Champions League, after two seasons outside Europe's elite competition.
