QPR 3 Preston 1: Adel robs Hulse of the goal glory
GOLDEN oldie Rob Hulse rolled back the years but rising star Adel Taarabt burned brightest as QPR roared back into top spot.
Hulse, 31, (below) set them on the way with his first goal for the club. But Taarabt, 21, hit TWO 30-yard belters in the second half to leave rock-bottom Preston with only one win in their last nine.
Darren Ferguson’s side simply had no answer to his bombardment and now have England’s worst defensive record.
Preston were a goal down after three minutes.
Rangers full-back Kyle Walker swung in a searching cross, Preston keeper Andy Lonergan fumbled, making it a gift for Hulse, who bundled the ball home from four yards.
Taarabt struck on 56 minutes with a rocket of a shot, his seventh goal of the season. With six minutes to go, he hit home another thanderbolt.
Iain Hume gave Preston an 89th-minute consolation goal.
