Manchester United could boast a new-look 25-man squad in next season's Premier League if Ruben Amorim completes the summer transfer business he desires. It goes without saying that the Red Devils are in desperate need of ruthless change, potentially made easier by their reduced 2025/26 schedule due to no European football.

Matheus Cunha has already joined from Wolves in a £62.5million deal, while talks are ongoing over the signing of Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo. United reportedly also want to add a striker, central midfielder and goalkeeper, with Andre Onana among the players in the shop window to generate the funds required to do so.

Express Sport runs through Amorim's potential squad in the admittedly unlikely event that his summer transfer window goes exactly to plan.

Goalkeepers: Martinez, Bayindir, Heaton

Onana has been strongly linked with a United exit after failing to convince for a second successive season since his £47m arrival from Inter Milan.

Amorim will only sign a new goalkeeper if the Cameroon international makes way, and Aston Villa's Emi Martinez is reportedly near the top of his shortlist.

The World Cup winner is set to leave Villa Park in the coming months and could be the subject of an approach if Onana departs M16.

Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton, who is in talks over a one-year contract extension beyond his expiry this month, should make up the goalkeeper union.

Defenders: Yoro, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez, Heaven, Shaw, Dalot, Dorgu

Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof have been released, while Tyrell Malacia is almost certain to leave permanently once he returns from his loan at PSV Eindhoven.

United are unlikely to commit some of their transfer budget towards a new defender this summer, given they are well-stocked in the area compared to others.

Leny Yoro, Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Ayden Heaven and Luke Shaw can all operate in the back three.

Mazraoui and Shaw can also play as wing-backs with Diogo Dalot and £25m January arrival Patrick Dorgu. Amad also looks primed for more minutes at right-wing-back next term.

Midfielders: Fernandes, Mount, Ederson, Mainoo, Ugarte, Collyer

United's links to potential midfield signings have been far and few while they've focused their early summer transfer business on the attack.

The Red Devils have reportedly discussed a move for Atalanta's Ederson, who is also said to be the subject of interest from Barcelona and Liverpool.

Ederson would inject Amorim's midfield with much-needed energy, replacing free agent Christian Eriksen. Casemiro may also leave if a suitable offer arrives.

The 25-year-old would join Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer in the engine room.

Forwards: Osimhen, Hojlund, Obi, Mbeumo, Amad, Cunha, Zirkzee

Wholesale changes to United's toothless attack have rightfully already begun with Cunha's arrival from Wolves.

Jadon Sancho, Antony and Marcus Rashford are all expected to leave permanently after their loan spells last season. Alejandro Garnacho will also be sold.

Mbeumo and Cunha would represent two exciting upgrades in the two 'No. 10' positions in Amorim's 3-4-3 system, joining Amad and Joshua Zirkzee. Fernandes, Mount and Mainoo can also operate further up.

Rasmus Hojlund has made it clear he wants to stay at Old Trafford despite scoring just four Premier League goals last season. Chido Obi will also continue his breakthrough into senior football.

Amorim wants a new striker, though. And despite links to a reunion with Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen is on the market for a similar transfer fee and is many a fan's dream recruit.

The wantaway Napoli star has already rejected a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia, and United are reportedly holding talks over a possible swoop.
