Arsenal and Chelsea will reportedly need to meet Viktor Gyokeres' staggering £85million release clause if they hope to secure the Swedish goal machine.

The ex-Coventry City forward netted an impressive 43 goals and provided 15 assists in his debut season in Lisbon.

Gyokeres has continued to maintain his exceptional form, already hitting the back of the net 10 times this season.

Arsenal, who are on the hunt for a new star striker, have heavily scouted the player but were unwilling to meet the hefty price tag this summer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea had their sights set on Victor Osimhen but failed to agree on contract terms with the Nigerian, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, despite extensive negotiations.

Gyokeres himself has publicly stated that he believes the £85m release clause is steep, but Sporting bosses remain firm in their stance of not accepting offers below that figure.
