Erik ten Hag reportedly isn't ready to bow to INEOS' demands after the Manchester United decision-makers opted against sacking him this summer. The Dutchman is claimed to be making four demands ahead of signing what's anticipated to be a two-year contract extension until 2027.

On Tuesday, it emerged that United had decided to stick with Ten Hag for a third season after a thorough two-week review led by Sir Dave Brailsford.

Ten Hag was widely expected to be dismissed after overseeing an eighth-place league finish, the club's lowest in the Premier League era.

United also endured a humiliating Champions League campaign, finishing bottom of Group A, having managed just one win from six games against Bayern Munich, Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

However, Ten Hag orchestrated a tactical masterclass to do a number on Premier League champions Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

A 2-1 triumph at Wembley on May 25 made Ten Hag the first United manager to win major trophies in back-to-back seasons since Sir Alex Ferguson in 2011.

Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo scoring the goals placed another feather in the 54-year-old's cap, proving his successful track record with promoting youth.

United's 13th FA Cup crown has seemingly rescued Ten Hag, and the club reportedly plan to solidify their backing and cancel speculation by tabling a new contract.

But according to The Sun, Ten Hag has been left angry by the process and won't blindly agree to INEOS' terms. He wants four assurances before putting pen to paper on an extended deal at Old Trafford.

It's claimed he won't willingly surrender the significant control of recruitment he inherited in 2022, which gave him a veto on all deals.

INEOS are believed to want to spread that responsibility across United's new-look sporting structure but face resistance from the dugout.

Ten Hag also reportedly isn't keen to be dictated by new technical director Jason Wilcox amid suggestions he is forming a new 'game model' for all of United's teams to adhere to.

Benni McCarthy - an attacking coach brought to the Red Devils in 2022 - is out of contract this summer, with little noise around an extension.

Ten Hag is said to want the South African to stay. McCarthy is a hugely popular figure around Carrington with a strong relationship with multiple players.

But the Dutchman reportedly doesn't want United to sanction Jadon Sancho's return after his short loan at Borussia Dortmund.

Ten Hag is pushing for the M16 giants to sell Sancho, removing the issue of their fractured relationship and boosting his summer transfer budget.
