Jack Grealish fined £666 for speeding - despite Man City star earning £43k a day
Manchester City star Jack Grealish was fined at magistrates court after he admitted to speeding.
Manchester City star Jack Grealish was fined £666 at Worcester Magistrates' Court after he admitted to speeding at 44mph in a 30mph area in north Worcestershire in July 2023. The England winger, who was not in court but pleaded guilty through his barrister, was also handed five penalty points.
Grealish was ordered to pay £110 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £266, leaving him with a total bill of £1,042, after being caught speeding while driving a Range Rover Sport.
The financial penalty will be a drop in the ocean for £100million man Grealish, who earns a reported £300,000 a week at Manchester City. That amounts to £42,857 per day before tax, £1,785 an hour, making £666 in less than 30 minutes.
The court was told that Grealish had been clocked by a mobile speed camera in Wythall and had also been facing a charge of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver. But prosecutors asked for that charge to be removed following the 28-year-old's guilty plea.

Grealish's barrister John Dye had been instructed to apologise on his client's behalf, who admitted to making a "mistake" and meant no offence by not attending the court hearing.
“Mr Grealish means no discourtesy by not attending," Dye said. "I am instructed to enter a guilty plea on his behalf in relation to speeding."
When the total bill was confirmed to the court, Dye added: "He can afford to pay that figure. I am asked to apologise on his behalf. It was a mistake.”
