Harry Maguire's Man Utd transfer exit 'in jeopardy' as West Ham go against David Moyes
Harry Maguire's Manchester United exit has reportedly stalled as West Ham go against David Moyes' transfer wishes.
Premier League season preview: Man Utd
Harry Maguire's £30million transfer to West Ham United is at risk of collapse due to issues regarding his personal terms, according to reports. Manchester United have been preparing for the England defender's departure, but he could now be set to remain at Old Trafford.
According to The Sun, West Ham's attempts to get Maguire through the London Stadium door are stalling.
The Hammers agreed a £30m deal with United earlier this week after seeing a loan approach and £20m offer rebuffed.
David Moyes identified Maguire as his priority centre-back target after guiding West Ham to Europa Conference League glory last season.
However, the report claims the club are ready to go against his wishes and move for Bayer Leverkusen's Odilon Kossounou.
West Ham are said to be lining up a pursuit of the 22-year-old with the £30m they committed to the Maguire deal.
Sporting director Tim Steidten is familiar with Kossounou from his spell at Leverkusen, who could be willing to part ways in a loan switch with an obligation to buy.
Maguire's £190,000-a-week United contract expires in 2025, leaving the Red Devils negotiating compensation to cover his impending wage cut.
But the 30-year-old is said to be keen to fight for his place under Erik ten Hag, despite starting just eight Premier League games last season.
With Euro 2024 on the horizon, Maguire needs regular minutes to remain an undroppable fixture in Gareth Southgate's England side.
For that reason, there was hope he would agree to a move to West Ham, making room for Ten Hag to add a signing of his own to his centre-back department.
The Dutchman has allegedly pinpointed Bayern Munich's Benjamin Pavard, OGC Nice's Jean-Clair Todibo, and Leverkusen's Edmond Tapsoba as potential replacements.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, United have made contact with Bayern over the signing of Pavard.
The 27-year-old is said to want a new challenge away from Bavaria after entering the final 12 months of his contract, with no intention of extending terms.
However, Maguire's stay would throw United's defensive transfer plans out of the window, given it would remove Ten Hag's need to add a fourth option.
He is starting the season with Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Maguire to choose from. Luke Shaw has also proven he can cover centrally.
If Maguire's West Ham move breaks through, United will likely turn their attention toward a new midfielder after confirming Fred's exit for Fenerbahce.
