PSG 'to offer Tottenham Xavi Simons' in Harry Kane swap deal package
PSG are reportedly set to enter the race for Tottenham star Harry Kane.
Kane set to be offered RECORD wages as Levy U-turns on hard Tottenham stance
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering using Xavi Simons in a player-plus-cash deal for Tottenham’s Harry Kane. Bayern Munich are also desperate to acquire the services of the striker as the European giants jostle to become frontrunners to sign the England international if his exit is green-lighted.
Kane has been heavily linked with an exit from Spurs for several years, with Manchester City previously turning his head and Manchester United renewing their interest this summer. However, Tottenham are said to be unwilling to allow their No 9 to make the move to a Premier League rival – which has captured the attention of sides elsewhere.
Thomas Tuchel is desperate for Bayern to sign the striker and has sent chiefs to London to hold talks with Daniel Levy, having already had a bid rejected for the striker. However, PSG have identified Kane as the ideal acquisition, with uncertainty surrounding both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
According to Di Marzio, the Ligue 1 outfit are considering tabling a player-plus-cash deal for the Spurs star and are looking at ‘playing the Simons card’ in negotiations. They are tempted to include the Netherlands international in the ‘operation’ as they believe that he will bring Spurs’ asking price down markedly – though they are also prepared to add a fee alongside the player.

It emerged over the weekend that Simons would return to PSG this summer following his spell at PSV, with the French outfit activating the £5million buyback clause – which the player had to approve of. Several other clubs from around Europe were also keen on the playmaker, though he has been persuaded to commit his future to PSG.
However, if he is instantly being used as a makeweight for other targets then one would certainly question the promises made in prior negotiations. Instead, it is expected that the versatile midfielder will leave the club to go on loan to RB Leipzig- though that deal has not been wrapped up yet.
Tottenham are reportedly not preparing for life without Kane though, with Ange Postecoglou speaking of his conversation with the striker on Monday: “I had a good chat with Harry.
"It was nothing earth-shattering as people are seeking. Just a good chat, introduced myself, and we spoke mainly about the club, where it's at and where he thinks can improve. It's not a specific vision for one person, it's about the group and we're perfectly aligned on that - we want to see a successful team this year.”
