France star forced to leave honeymoon after late call-up ends up playing 0 minutes
Boubacar Kamara received a dream call-up to the France squad while he was on his honeymoon but the Aston Villa star was left unused by Didier Deschamps.
Boubacar Kamara decided to risk it all and cancel his honeymoon after receiving a late call-up to the France squad from Didier Deschamps. The Aston Villa star was handed a chance to make his senior debut for his country after injuries forced Les Bleus to look for replacements and the youngster cut short his holiday in paradise to head back to his native France, only for the midfielder to be left as an unused substitute by his manager.
The 23-year-old was selected by Didier Deschamps to replace the injured Adrien Rabiot for games against Gibraltar and Greece during the post-season international break.
Kamara had been celebrating his new marriage to Coralie Porrovecchio on his honeymoon after the pair set off for their trip of a lifetime, but they soon found themselves jetting back to Clairefontaine when he got the call.
Just days after they got hitched, Porrovecchio took to social media to share images of their journey back to France, featuring a picture of them in a car on the road alongside the caption: "ON MY WAY", with Kamara later hopping onto to a private jet along with his suitcases.

But it all proved to be in vain for Kamara when he joined up with the national team.
Not only was he left out of the 3-0 win over Gibraltar on Friday, Deschamps brutally overlooked the midfielder during the 1-0 victory over Greece on Monday as well.
Instead, the experienced coach chose Real Madrid pair Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga to make up the central midfield duo.
It should be pointed out that this would not have been Kamara's debut for the national team, as he has already won three caps for his country. He first appeared in a France shirt in the 1-1 draw with Croatia in the UEFA Nations League, committing his future to the nation after rejecting a call-up from Senegal.

But it appeared the chance to establish himself in the team under Deschamps was too tempting to turn down, and now Kamara may have some regrets about his choice to leave his holiday with Coralie, his new wife and mother of his two children Leeroy and Kingsley.
Kamara had enjoyed an impressive debut season at Villa Park after arriving on a free transfer from Marseille in July last year, signing a five-year contract with the Midlands club.
He made 29 appearances for the club last season and was in line for a call-up to the World Cup squad before suffering ligament damage to his knee in November, ruling him out of the tournament in Qatar.
