France star Kylian Mbappe gives Guendouzi dressing down in training ahead of England clash
France attacker Kylian Mbappe has been the star of the World Cup so far.
England undergo recovery session after beating Senegal at World Cup
Kylian Mbappe jokingly berated France team-mate Matteo Guendouzi for ‘shooting with fear’ ahead of Les Bleus’ World Cup quarter-final clash with England. Mbappe, the tournament’s top scorer so far, is ensuring his colleagues prepare properly ahead of the crunch match with the Three Lions.
In an amusing clip posted to social media, France’s stars can be seen going through a shooting drill in training. Former Arsenal midfielder Guendouzi fires an effort at goal but his strike is tame and easily saved by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
Mbappe then comes into shot to jokingly dress down his team-mate’s poor finishing. “You shoot with fear!” the PSG ace repeats while smiling.
Guendouzi, who is not known for his goalscoring, can be seen laughing as he turns away from Mbappe. The 23-year-old scored just once in his 82 appearances for Arsenal between 2018 and 2022.

Meanwhile, Mbappe has been one of the stars of the World Cup and leads the scoring charts with five goals. Remarkably, he now has nine strikes at World Cups in just 11 appearances. He is the youngest player since Pele in 1958 to reach five knockout goals in the competition - aged 23.
The lightning quick attacker scored two sensational goals in France’s 3-1 win over Poland in the last-16. Mbappe then spoke to the media after the game for the first time in Qatar, amid reports that he was avoiding the French press over the image rights argument that forced the FFF into a U-turn over sponsorship photoshoots in September.
“This is the competition of my dreams, and I am delighted to be here. I have prepared all season to be ready,” Mbappe said

"When I didn't speak to the media in the early rounds of this competition, it was because I just needed to focus on the tournament and my football. When I want to concentrate, that's how I function, but when I was told the French Federation would be fined, I paid it myself because it was my responsibility.
"But I am here and focused on winning the World Cup again. We're a long way from achieving our objective of going all the way and winning the World Cup, though. The first challenge is the quarter-final, and that's what we are focusing on now."
Mbappe is the man England will be desperately trying to stop in their bid to reach consecutive World Cup semi-finals. Gareth Southgate is likely to opt for a back three over the back four that has started the Three Lions’ opening four matches.
