Tottenham's semi sorrow haunts Glenn Hoddle
GLENN HODDLE, the last Tottenham manager to take the club to an FA Cup semi-final, still feels the pain of that defeat by Arsenal.
Tottenham were beaten 2-1 at Old Trafford in April 2001 and Glenn Hoddle said: “I took over four days before that game. Arsenal were favourites and we had about nine injuries.
“We were doing well for a long period, but then Sol Campbell went off injured and Patrick Vieira scored with a header from exactly where he would have been. I thought to myself, ‘What are the chances of that happening?’
“I believe there has been a philosophy change at Spurs. It has taken the board time and money over the years to find someone they trust and want to go with and now they have with Harry Redknapp.”
