Bolton's Stuart Holden eyeing a late comeback
BOLTON'S Stuart Holden is planning to return for the final two games of the season and hopes his enforced break has not ended his chances of being in South Africa with the United States.
Midfielder Stuart Holden, 24, fractured his right fibula on international duty against Holland on March 3 but is due to resume training in a fortnight.
"It has actually progressed well so I'm looking to start running, jogging next week and then going full blast, " said Holden.
"I've targeted the last two games - Tottenham away and Birmingham at home.
"I'm looking to contribute and hopefully we'll be safe by that point and building for next season."
Holden, who could line up for the United States against England in their opening World Cup group game in South Africa on June 12, said: "First and foremost, my duty is to Bolton, but the World Cup is the bigger goal in mind.
"It has been a dream of mine to play in one so now that the chance is so close, I'm going to do every little thing to put myself in the best possible position."
