England move up FIFA rankings
England have moved up one place to seventh in the latest FIFA world rankings.
Fabio Capello’s side, who came from behind to beat Egypt 3-1 in their latest friendly, moved above France, who dropped to eighth.
Portugal climbed two places to fourth, while Italy and Germany dropped one place to fifth and sixth respectively. Spain, Brazil and Holland remain the top three.
Croatia, who could not even manage to secure a qualifying play-off for this summer’s World Cup, moved up one place to 10th.
The majority of ranking changes are due to the devaluation of results from last year.
