“We needed a game like this, a victory against a great team and playing well.
“We matched their intensity and we were better, I think it can be a turning point.
“It’s a great victory, but we have to keep working. We have to be very humble, now we can’t slow down.”
One negative from the match, however, was a section of Barcelona fans who jeered winger Ousmane Dembele.
The France international has refused to sign a new contract with the Catalan titans amid interest from the likes of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona had hoped to offload Dembele in January but, now, the 2018 World Cup winner is likelier to leave in the summer instead.

But Xavi wants fans to stop booing the forward, insisting he’s an important member of the squad.
“The fans were 10 out of 10, the support was brilliant throughout the game. But I would like them to support Ousmane, too. I’d ask them to stop booing him,” he said.
“It was a technical decision for him not to play.
“The idea was for him to play, but I decided to do other things because of the red card and the way the game went.
“Circumstances led me down another path in the end.”
