Jurgen Klopp previews Liverpool's clash with Wolves
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hopes that the arrival of a new goalkeeper coach will prevent the club’s owners from having to spend such vast amounts of money on upgrading the position in future. Fenway Sports Group splashed out £66.9million on Alisson Becker three years ago but Klopp does not think that will be repeated.
The Reds have appointed Alisson’s Brazil national team coach Claudio Taffarel to work alongside their two other first-team specialists.
Jack Robinson and John Achterberg were already in place. The pair have overseen Alisson’s rise to becoming one of the world’s best goalkeepers.
Taffarel will conduct his duties at Liverpool while also maintaining his position with Brazil.
And Klopp wants the appointment to prevent big-money signings such as Alisson. The German hopes that Taffarel, who won the 1994 World Cup with Brazil, will help youngsters Marcelo Pitaluga and Harvey Davies develop.

Third-choice shot-stopper Adrian’s injury means that Pitaluga will provide back up to Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher for their upcoming Premier League games.
The 18-year-old was signed from Fluminense in 2020 and Klopp has hailed the club’s scouting department.
"We started with two goalie coaches now and worked it pretty well with Jack,” the former Borussia Dortmund coach said when asked about Taffarel’s arrival.
"We all have different ideas and we mix it up. John is incredible, pretty much like a goalkeeping book – he thinks of nothing else.

"I know that we were criticised, people blame the goalie coach if the goalkeeper was not so good in the past, but it’s not about that.
"Now we bring something completely different in, which makes sense. And for the boys who are not involved on a weekend, we can really work with them properly and consistently.
"And we thought somebody with their real own opinion would be good, we want to challenge ourselves and improve the goalies.
"We had to buy the best goalie in the world (Alisson) for big money. That should not happen that often any more.
"We invest a lot in scouting and youth, and I think we have in Marcelo Pitaluga and Harvey Davies incredible talents here.
