Ralf Rangnick confirmed as Manchester United interim manager
Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick will not get as much respect from the club's players as Antonio Conte would, claims former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy. Rangnick has been appointed United's interim manager until the end of the season. The German will then take up a consultancy role for the following two campaigns.

"I think Rangnick's got a few hurdles he's going to have to jump," Murphy told talkSPORT.
"The first one is, I don't know the guy, but whoever you are, the scrutiny he's going to come under when he takes the job, he's never had that at any club before.
"Every part of his life will be scrutinised and analysed.
"Everywhere he goes, everything he says, will be analysed to within an inch of his life, whereas all the other jobs before he's not had that.

Rangnick has won just one major trophy during his managerial career - the German Cup in 2011 with Schalke.
Murphy continued: "Then he's going to have to deal with players of the magnitude of [Bruno] Fernandes, [Cristiano] Ronaldo, these types of players.
"He's never dealt with that before. I'm not suggesting Rangnick can't do that because the plaudits he's got and the people who are talking about him, you have to respect.
"But these are some of the challenges he might not have faced before. Someone in front of the other lads questioning him and challenging him - how's he going to deal with that? You have to have good communication skills.

"So if the difference is, if Conte was going in the door at Old Trafford, as a player, even a top player, you have to kind of respect his way because he's been at big clubs with big players and he's won everything.
"So you kind of go 'well it's worked, so I'm listening'.
"Rangnick's coming in and if he tries to go down the tyrant line, this is my way or the highway, he's only ever won one trophy."
