Manchester United sack Ole Gunnar after Watford defeat
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's time at Old Trafford came to an end on Sunday, with the Manchester United manager sacked after producing unfavourable results for the last two months of his tenure. Yet cross-city rival Pep Guardiola acknowledged Solskjaer's efforts in the Premier League over the last three years.
The pair faced off nine times in total, the pair winning four games each coupled with one draw.
Solskjaer looked to have turned a corner with United by finishing second and reaching the Europa League final last season.
Yet after signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, United have gone backwards with their failure to improve their midfield and poor tactical decisions seen as key reasons Solskjaer has lost his job.

But Manchester City manager Guardiola classily acknowledged his former counterpart's performances against him.
“I wish him all the best. It was a pleasure to face him," Guardiola said.
"He beat me more than I wanted but you know, he knows - like I know - when you’re in charge of a team like United, like City, like Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool … you have to win, otherwise you’re in trouble.
“I’m still sitting here because we won, otherwise there would be another person sitting here.
