Watford made a mockery of Manchester United's transfer failures at Vicarage Road on Saturday as Josh King and Ismaila Sarr fired the hosts into a 2-0 lead in the first half. United put on an uninspiring showing before the break as further doubts clouded Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's future as manager.

Last summer, United were vying for a new right-winger as Jadon Sancho looked less unattainable as the transfer window went on.
And Sarr's agent, Thierno Seydi, has revealed that the Red Devils were eyeing his client, but their offer wasn't acceptable.
He said: "During the summer, the Manchester club wanted to sign him.
"At the last moment, they offered a loan without an option, which Watford didn't accept because the loan was expected to be accompanied by an option with right of first refusal for the Manchester club."

Donny van de Beek headed United back into the game five minutes after coming on as a substitute at half-time, but it was downhill again from there.
Captain Harry Maguire received a second yellow card and was dismissed on 69 minutes before Joao Pedro and Emmanuel Dennis piled on the misery in stoppage time.
A 4-1 defeat will surely spell the end of Solskjaer's tenure at Old Trafford, with United now closer to the bottom of the Premier League than the top.
