Real Madrid 'to give Marco Asensio one last chance' amid Tottenham transfer links
Tottenham have been linked with Real Madrid playmaker Marco Asensio in recent weeks.

Marco Asensio's Real Madrid career has been hanging by a thread for the past couple of years but new boss Carlo Ancelotti is willing to give the Spaniard one last chance if reports are to be believed.
Asensio burst onto the scene as a 20-year-old at the Bernabeu in 2016/17, forcing his way into the first-team immediately after a move from hometown club RCD Mallorca.
But after announcing himself as one of the most exciting young players in Europe in his opening years at the Santiago Bernabeu, things have gone slightly wrong for Asensio ever since.
Playing just 10 games in the 2019/20 season due to injury, he figured in almost every league game last season, but failed to hit the heights that many predicted his potential could reach.
And as media outlet Defensa Central exclusively states, Asensio is facing his last chance this season to become an important player at Real Madrid.
His future in the squad has been on the tightrope for several years due to his performances and it is up to him to resolve that under Carlo Ancelotti.

The report states that the Italian wants to start giving more game-time to Sergio Arribas, a hugely sought-after prospect from the youth academy, and Asensio may be the main victim of his introduction.
The Mallorca-born midfielder could be made available for transfer if he does not impress this season - which may just interest Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
Asensio was linked with Tottenham over the summer following the loan departure of fellow Real Madrid player and ex-Spurs legend Gareth Bale.
With Nuno looking for someone to replace Bale's attacking input, it appeared Asensio would be the perfect fit for the attacking Portuguese coach's front-line.

According to MARCA, the Spaniard turned Spurs down over the summer as he believed his opportunity at Real Madrid could come.
However, if Defensa Central is to be believed, then he could well be begging Spurs to re-register their interest in him should Arribas take his place in the Los Blancos squad.
Asensio told Mundo Deportivo of his pre-season talks with Ancelotti back in July, claiming that he got a good impression from the Italian.
"Yes, we had a talk before coming to the Olympic Games," Asensio said.
"It was short, but very good. I got a good impression.
"And what am I going to say about him? He is a very experienced coach, who has been in the biggest clubs. And this season will surely be very good."
