Four strikers Man Utd could target next summer as Bayern confirm Haaland transfer interest
Bayern Munich have inevitably entered the race to sign Erling Haaland, which could lead to United looking elsewhere.
Varane trains in quarantine ahead of Man Utd move
Manchester United may look at alternative striker options next summer after Bayern Munich confirmed their interest in Erling Haaland. Once Edinson Cavani leaves at the end of the season, United are widely expected to prioritise signing a new centre-forward.
Haaland is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's primary striker target, and the Norwegian boss wanted United to sign him from RB Salzburg before joining Borussia Dortmund.
However, Bayern chief Hasan Salihamidzic has suggested that Bayern will join Europe's top clubs in looking into signing Haaland.
He told SPORT 1: "This is a top player that the whole world probably wants. Of course we look there, otherwise we would be full amateurs."
Considering Bayern's track record of sweeping up the Bundesliga's best talent, the Red Devils may be forced to search elsewhere for Cavani's successor.
Express Sport looks at four top European strikers Solskjaer could eye if Haaland becomes unattainable next summer.

Harry Kane
Let's get the obvious candidate out of the way.
With Manchester City splashing £100million on Jack Grealish this summer, it's unlikely they'll match Tottenham Hotspur's hefty Harry Kane valuation too.
With that said, Kane's desire to leave Spurs should still be present in a year, especially if the club fails to win silverware again, and United will be after a star striker.
The Red Devils were interested in Kane when he first stated his desire to leave north London.
His valuation would also probably be lower next year as his contract grows closer to expiration.

Lautaro Martinez
With Romelu Lukaku on the verge of completing a £97.5m return to Chelsea this summer, the chances of Lautaro Martinez also leaving Inter Milan are slim.
Amid links to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, Martinez is reportedly keen to move to England if the chance presents itself.
The Argentine's high-pressing style would suit Solskjaer's style of play to a tee and would slot into his dynamic attacking set-up.
While he'd still demand a high fee, it'd be substantially lower than Haaland or Kane's.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Dominic Calvert-Lewin flourished under Carlo Ancelotti last season, scoring 21 goals in 39 games in all competitions.
But Ancelotti is now gone, and Everton aren't expected to break into European football in Rafa Benitez's first season in charge.
Calvert-Lewin is still only 24, but as one of the Premier League's best strikers, he could be eyeing a big move away from Goodison Park soon.
His pace, aerial presence and striker's instinct make him an undeniable force, and he'll only get better with upgraded service around him.
Alexander Isak
Last season, Alexander Isak made the headlines as he netted 17 goals in 30 La Liga starts for Real Sociedad.
The 21-year-old then caught the eye at Euro 2020, where his pace and trickery, despite his 6ft 4 frame, dazzled viewers.
He'd undoubtedly be poised for a step up if he continues to impress in Spain, and United could be a realistic destination.
