Tottenham supporters will play a key role in chairman Daniel Levy’s search for a new manager, according to Duncan Castles speaking on the Reach PLC Transfer Window Podcast. Levy sacked Jose Mourinho last month after the Portuguese endured a difficult 17 months in charge.

The 29-year-old will not get the job on a permanent basis.
Brighton boss Graham Potter is believed to be in contention. Former Juventus coach Maximiliano Allegri is another one who is highly tipped, but it is believed that the Italian would prefer the Real Madrid job if Zinedine Zidane quits.
Wolves announced the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo and he would appear to be a good fit at Spurs.
But Sky Sports understands that the Portuguese is not being considered.
The Times journalist Duncan Castles believes Levy will instead be conscious of who Spurs supporters want to replace Mourinho.

Levy has been under pressure from fans following a perceived lack of investment. That discontent spilled over when Spurs signed up to plans for the now scrapped European Super League.
Levy last week released a statement revealing that a new Fan Advisory Board would be established and that the new manager would fit into the club's "DNA".
“In that DNA message to the supporters there was a clear message about going back to Tottenham's style of attacking aggressive football,” Castles told the Reach PLC Transfer Window Podcast.

“While Nuno is very good at creating teams who score goals and beat opponents, he's not a front-foot manager.
“He might be able to become one with a higher quality of squad but he works on percentages. The perception from Tottenham supporters I think would be, 'Nuno, no thanks, give us a more starry-eyed name than that.'
“From a supporter reception perspective, I'm not saying this is the right route to go down, if the supporters are presented with Nuno Espirito Santo as the next coach or with Graham Potter, which one is more popular from a supporter's perspective given their image in English football at present?
“I think Nuno would be a better appointment but from the perspective from who is perceived to play attacking football and be a modern progressive coach, I think Potter with the PR he's had this season and he has the benefit of being an English coach.
“I think if you did a Vox pop of Tottenham supporters they'd prefer Potter to Nuno and I think that would be more important to Levy at the moment than actual qualities as a coach.
“It's 'Is he good enough to do a job for me? And will the supporters be happy with it?' That's what he's thinking about at the moment."
