Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has sent a message to the club's owners Fenway Sports Group that "we have to all stick together" following the announcement of a European Super League. Liverpool are one of 12 founding clubs of the breakaway league which was unveiled on Sunday.
Klopp spoke out against the idea of a Super League in 2019 and he says his stance has not changed and that he loves the competitive nature of the current Champions League.
"My feelings didn't change," he told Sky Sports. "My opinion didn't change .
"People are not happy with it, I can understand it. I can't say a lot more because we were not involved in the process - not the players, not me - we didn't know about it. We will have to wait how it develops.
"I'm 53. Since I've been in professional football, the Champions League has been there. My aim was always to coach a team there. I have no issues with the Champions League.

"I don't want them to because we want to but I like they have the chance. What can I say? It's not easy."
Liverpool fan groups have had banners removed from the Kop end of Anfield in reaction to the news.
But Klopp says the players have done nothing wrong and that the club as a whole must work together.
