Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants to sign three players before the end of the January transfer window. An attacking midfielder has been high on the agenda throughout the window so far. However, Arteta has also made it clear he wants to improve in two other positions.

"We know we can use Ainsley [Maitland-Niles] there, we can use Bukayo [Saka] there and we can use Cedric [Soares] - who has played in that position - so we have some options.
"A natural option to Kieran? Obviously, we don't. But we can adapt."
Asked if he would consider signing a left-back, Arteta responded: "That means that the option is open and we will look to see what is available."
So it is clear there are three areas of the team that Arteta wants to strengthen before the window shuts on February 1.

As well as Kolasinac, Arsenal have allowed William Saliba to leave on loan, with Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Mesut Ozil having their contracts cancelled and goalkeeper Matt Macey joining Hibernian on a permanent deal.
Arteta says his trimming process is almost complete and will now focus on bringing in players.
"We are in that process right now," Arteta said.
"We've done the first part [trimming the squad] more or less and now we are focusing on the second phase.

"We are looking at various positions because the movements that we've made in this transfer window with some players leaving the club leaves us a little bit short in certain areas.
"If we can then we will do it, if we can't then we will just keep going with what we have."
