Transfer update: Latest on Haaland, Messi and Salah
Erling Haaland hasn’t been shy about talking about Manchester United in the past, but speculation now links him with two of their Premier League rivals. Chelsea and Liverpool are both said to be interested in the Norwegian wonderkid.
Haaland is one of the most exciting talents in the world at the moment, having set the world alight since joining Borussia Dortmund last year.
The young striker had admirers from around Europe when he was at RB Salzburg, and moved to Dortmund after they triggered his relatively low £18million release clause.
Since then, he’s gone on to score 35 goals in 35 games across all competitions for Dortmund, with eight in six games in the Champions League.
Just a year on from moving, however, he might be on his way again, with a host of admirers interested.

United are still believed to be interested, as are Manchester City – who want a replacement for Sergio Aguero. Liverpool and Chelsea are both said to be looking at him, with the latter apparently willing to shatter their transfer record to sign him.
Haaland has famously been quiet about his future plans when asked in the past, and once expressed he was “bored” of hearing himself linked with various teams.
He has, however, declared his admiration for United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who he worked with at Norwegian side Molde.
Speaking before he left Salzburg, he discussed how the Old Trafford icon had helped shape his career.

“Solskjaer and I did some practice on finishing,” he said. “Not just crosses. I remember he taught me some easy rules.
“The first one was one-touch [finishes]. That I don’t use too much power and trying to destroy the goal or the goalie with ball.
“I think that I was thinking about doing that and it was something new that he told me. I trained a bit on that, but without scoring. But at least I had it in my head after that training session.”
Haaland spent just under two years playing for Solskjaer’s side before moving on to Salzburg, and admitted he still speaks to his idol.
